As part of the Indy 500 and all the activities going on around it, the kids participated in the Rookie Run this weekend. They got their own race bib, medal, and finisher water bottle for the 2 block course they ran. It was hot, humid, the lines were incredibly long, but it was worth it for the pride they have had in wearing those medals around their necks every minute since they got them!
They held hands all the way up to the start line, and during the "On your mark, get set, go!" Then K took of with everything he had, leaving G in the dust. She was more into checking out the crowd, where he was in to win!
